My name is Ludovic Charpy, I am from Seine et Marne, a department located in Ile de France, about thirty minutes from Paris. Currently I live with my two childrens in a house in the countryside, old stone house surrounded by forests, bordered by a pretty little river crossing my garden.

My parents were tradesmen, I grew up in a simple family, with my sister Hélène, my eldest 3 years old. Due to multiple professional and personal complications, my parents divorced when I was 7 years old. It was therefore my mother, often alone, who did my education.

Rocked by music every day, it was with Barbara Streisand, Antonio Vivaldi and Elton John that my childhood was bathed by this deep feeling of nostalgic emotion and tenderness.

Passionate about everything, collecting from a very young age a multitude of objects of all kinds, I gradually developed my love for minerals and their fascinating colors, their forms so incredible despite this ability to have such a common surface...

Poets, musicians, designers, stylists, photographers, magnetisers, actors ... I saw in all these people something that always touched me and that allowed me to project myself in their place, making me vibrate with all possible emotions, as if I were they, their hands were mine, their sensibility spoke to me.

It was only later that I realized the common point to all this : Art

Today , in2020, I'm forty-four years old, and my fascination grows every day for the colors, the forms and, like those precious stones where the beauty hides behind a cold and rough appearance, I dive evenmore into the reflection that beauty is in everything, everywhere.

I am very sensitive, nostalgic, sad, lost, stupefied, burning with impatience of kindness, reflection and empathy. I like people, their stories.

My life is a love story, a book with its good and bad chapters, and painting is for me the best way to express in color the emotions that inhabit me. My actions are guided by my thoughts, and I am always surprised to find myself in front of my deepest thoughts...

Each painting awakens in me an emotion that allows me to understand a little more each day, to work on me. My canvases are a flat reflection of my hidden thoughts.

I think that we all have in us, like these precious stones, a common surface, whatever, but that this one hides the treasure of our spirit.

I try to open the door of my soul, free my fears, to fly my love in painting in my small workshop where calm reigns when the night comes.

I make paints mainly based on acrylic knife and usually on dark backgrounds. I often add coatings, resins, sands, etc ... Most of the paintings are on fairly large formats, small canvases do not allow me to express myself enough.

On the social network Instagram, I publish my paintings under the name of Pixels_of_life (lc_artgallery), where I describe personal feelings according to each painting, exposing myself under cover of a pseudonym. 

Many times contacted by contemporary art galleries from New-York to Paris, i then decided to create a website to share my artistic vision with the whole world.
